Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) grant: A step-by-step guide

The government’s OZEV (Office for Zero Emission Vehicles) grant.

The government’s OZEV (Office for Zero Emission Vehicles) currently offers a grant to electric vehicle home chargers, providing up to £350 off the cost of buying and installing a home charging point.

Here’s how to apply for the grant with Virtus Energy’s help.

To qualify for an OZEV grant, you need to have purchased an eligible electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle or leased one for at least six months.

  • You must have off-street parking.
  • You must install an OZEV-approved charge point.
  • You must use an OZEV-approved charge point installer like Virtus Energy.

Which vehicles are eligible for the OZEV grant?

Not all plug-in vehicles are eligible for the OZEV grant. All full battery electric vehicles are eligible, but plug-in hybrid vehicle CO2 emissions must be calculated below 50g/km.

You can see if your vehicle is eligible for an OZEV grant here.

How do I claim the OZEV grant?

Contact Virtus Energy when placing your order with us and ask how to claim your grant. We’ll ask you a few questions and we’ll take care of the rest.

Additional grant available in Scotland

The Scottish Government offers Scottish residents an additional grant of up to £300 on top of the OZEV grant – if you are a Scottish resident and order through us, let us know.
